“Keeping America's Promise” follows teams of battlefield archaeologists and forensic scientists in their work, conducting the laboratory operations to identify the remains of American soldiers who were lost in the Korean War, and recently returned to the United States by the North Korean government.

These soldiers’ remains were taken to labs in Hawaii where DNA and other identification tests are now being conducted. These are the largest forensic anthropology laboratories in the world.
